Since 1995, Sportball has delivered expertly coached programs to children across Canada, in select US markets and now Southeast Asia. As leaders in the field of children’s health and physical literacy, we offer high-energy, fun skills-based programming for kids aged 16 months-12 years.

Successful Sportball franchise partners are motivated and hard-working entrepreneurs; they possess strong communication skills, they are passionate about sports and they love working with children and making a positive contribution to their community. A background in fields such as Kinesiology, Psychology, Recreation Management, Health Sciences and Education are considered an asset.

How it Works

A representative will respond to your request for information and discuss your initial questions about the process and our business model.

During this stage, you will be researching the market, planning your business and looking into the financing you may need. This may include talking with some of our experienced operators to gain their valuable insight.

Many jurisdictions require the Franchisor to provide disclosure to interested Franchisees; this document provides all important and relevant information related to the franchise. If you are working with a Sportball representative to complete your mutual due diligence, you will, at the approval part in the process, be provided with this disclosure.

If you wish to explore the opportunity further, and we feel you are a good candidate, we will invite you to visit Sportball headquarters. Here, you will meet the team: the management, staff and Coaches. You will see a variety of Sportball classes in action, and you will gain a much better understanding of who we are and what we do.

At this point, you will complete your due diligence. You will put together your business plan and confirm your ability to finance the business.

When you have decided that you are ready to commit to operating a Sportball franchise, we will ask you to sign the franchise documents.

Before you start your business, you will return to our headquarters for training in the Sportball Method, including curriculum and classroom management techniques. We will train you as a Coach and as a trainer, so that you in turn can train your own coaches. We will show you how to interview and hire staff. You will also learn how to manage your business, including how to set up and market programs and how to use our online registration system to your advantage.

With this preparation, you should be off to a good start and able to launch your business. You will become an active member of our family of franchisees and participate in our regular franchisee teleconferences. We are here for you and are always open to discussing your questions, ideas and challenges.

Sportball offers developmentally appropriate skills-focused sports programs for children aged 16 months to 12 years. Our eight key sports include: soccer, hockey, football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, tennis and golf. Sportball began in 1995 with a single location and now has several hundred corporate and franchise locations in North America. We began franchising in 2005 and our franchise partners are now running successful businesses throughout Canada, the United States and Singapore.

Yes, we are! If you are interested in acquiring the master license for a market inside or outside of the United States, please describe this on your request information form.

An educational background in Kinesiology, Early Childhood Education, Recreation Management, Physical Education, Business or Personal Training is helpful, but not required. Experience running a successful business is also an asset. Ultimately, if you have a love of sports and children, and the determination to succeed, Sportball may be a great fit.

As a Sportball franchisee you would participate in training in our methodology, lesson plans and coaching techniques. You would also learn all aspects of the business including program development, administration, operations and finances.

We want you to be successful. You can count on us for regular training and support in the development of Sportball programs, as well as assistance with demographic research to identify location opportunities. We have an online library of marketing and training materials, and we can also advise you on other business issues as needed.

Your total investment to become a Sportball franchisee, including your initial training and post opening support, is surprisingly low at less than $50K. More information may be found in our Franchise Disclosure documents, which you would receive at a point in our discussions when you require more facts to make an informed decision.

Some franchisees choose to continue working, at least part-time, during the start-up phase of the business. Others decide to devote themselves fully to their new Sportball franchise within their first year. You should discuss your personal circumstances with Sportball.
